Results - 2019 Whanganui Secondary School Regionals
Here’s one we missed!
The Whanganui region managed to squeeze their secondary school regionals in during November of 2019.
According to Whaea Dhinisti Patea Matiaha ‘This was to ensure schools that qualified had sufficient time for trainings and fundraising (as there is going to be a lot of travel) as well as the fact that students have a lot more commitments in Term 1’.
‘The regionals were held on Saturday 16th November and it was a beautiful day! Congratulations to the 3 schools going on to represent Whanganui at the 2020 NZ Secondary School Ki o Rahi Championships in Waitangi!’
Results: 3rd place - Te Kura o Kokohuia; 2nd place - Whanganui High School; 1st place - Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Tupoho
‘A huge shout out to Hepi Ferris-Bretherton and Shade Tuaine for stepping up and leading the way, also a shout out to Amaia Patea (14) who studied to be a kaiwawao for this regionals due to injury but still wanted to be part of the day’ and ‘a big mihi to Te Kura o Kokohuia for their manaakitanga in hosting’.
