Raahui Pookeka Secondary School Ki o Rahi Tournament 2020
We have a Secondary School Kī o Rahi Tournament for any school around the country to attend!
The tournament will only happen under Level 1 but is a good chance for schools to get into some sport considering the up and down nature of the year so far.
A big shout out to the Tainui Māori Teachers’ Association and Ora Kihi for putting this together, as our rangatahi have missed out on some major events this season, including Kapa Haka Nationals, Waka Ama Nationals, Kī o Rahi Nationals and National Manu Kōrero to name just a few.
Here is the official invitation:
Teena koutoou ngaa Kura waiu o nga rohe,
ahaakoa ngaa pehitanga, nga uauatanga o te mate Korouna, ka tuu tonu taatoou. Kei nga mate o te waa haere atu koutoou. Taatoou te hunga Ora nei ka mihi. Naa te whakakorengia o nga Nationals, aroha kau ana ki ngoo taatoou tamariki, a he mea nui kia whakahokia nga taonga me nga tikanga kia raatoou.

The date is to coincide with the Raahui Pookeka Ahurei. The Kapa Haka Competition is on the Sat 10th Oct then Kiorahi the following day.
This is to make this most of this opportunity for our travelling Kura. All are most welcome to attend the Kapa Haka at Claudelands Events Centre. Once again the safety of all concern is our main focus and will remain paramount, this event will only happen under Level 1. We will continue to update as we move closer to the date.
This is a really good chance for schools to get some experience against some very good teams, a good way to make connections with schools from around the country and a good chance to improve your understanding of Kī o Rahi here in Aotearoa.
For more information see the link here on how to register (please ignore the 28th September date, this has changed due to covid :D)
